The Keep Fit Vacation
When we think about vacation times what do we think about? We think about food, lounging around on a beach, or all the hours we will spend driving to our destination and back? Think instead of ways that we can keep fit while on vacation and still have fun. How can we keep fit while on vacation? The key to keeping fit while on vacation is to use “fitness” to give you more energy so that you can have more fun on your vacation. Exercising can besides give you energy, provide you with the endurance you need in order to do all that walking while sightseeing. Exercise can also burn off the excess calories and fat grams that you take in while over-indulging on those Caribbean cruises or five-star hotel dining experiences. People who are fit tend to be able to do more physical activities while on vacation such as hiking, climbing on uneven mountain surfaces or carrying heavy luggage and all those souvenirs that you collect along the way.
Vacations, as fun as they are meant to be can also be stressful too. Planning all the particulars about your vacation starts the stress buildup as you try to schedule your travel plans, book hotel rooms, purchase vacation clothes and other gear and it only increases as the vacation day arrives and you have to make sure that everyone is where they should be and doing what they can to be ready to leave. Then you either have to drive to your destination, or catch a plane, or cruise liner and there are the stress of getting to where you need to be on time to contend with. Exercise helps to reduce stress and can improve your sleep, which also helps you to be able to cope with stress.
When you are exercising on vacation it could be easy to forget to stretch before and after exercising and to maintain proper posture due to being in a different place, or being hurried by others so you can be on your way doing what ever your agenda is for that day.
Those who are lucky enough to be enjoying a luxury cruise while on vacation can still keep fit by walking around the deck, swimming, and taking advantage of resorts found at the ports you dock at so that you can play golf, tennis or take advantage of local fitness centers.
You can also stay fit as you travel by following a few exercise tips for staying fit while traveling.
